They say that too much of a good thing is never enough. That’s true when it comes to the dizzying array of options GMC offers for its Sierra 3500 heavy-duty truck. The 2025 GMC Sierra 3500HD is available in six trims: Pro, SLE, SLT, AT4. Denali, and Denali Ultimate. Whether you love the rugged look and feel or need a work truck that can tackle the toughest jobs, GMC has a model that can meet your needs. Let’s take a look.

Pro

The standard Pro trim has a 6.6-liter V8 engine, with the option to upgrade to a Duramax V8 turbocharged diesel engine for better performance and towing. It has a maximum payload of 4,571 pounds with the standard engine configuration.

SLE

The SLE has the same engine options and basic specs as the baseline Pro trim, but offers some additional styling features, 18-inch machined aluminum wheels with Dark Grey accents standard. It also includes some nice amenities on the inside that aren’t available on the Pro, such as a 13.4-inch diagonal GMC touchscreen infotainment system with Google built-in.

SLT

One step above the SLE, is the SLT trim, which combines the power of the lower-level trims with even more add-ons to improve your driving experience. With a ProGrade Trailering System that includes an in-vehicle trailering app and power-adjustable trailering mirrors, the 3500HD SLE is your go-to if you plan to use a trailer for hauling things often.

The SLT also stands out for stylistic touches. In addition to chrome on the front and rear bumpers, the SLT features chrome door handles and mirror caps.

AT4

The AT4 has the same standard specs and trailering options as the SLT, but it also includes the X31 Off-Road Package. Designed for getting down and dirty on all terrain, the package features skid plates, off-road suspension, Rancho shocks, and hill descent control.

Denali

The Denali is equipped with the same off-roading hardware as the AT4, but it also has some additional interior accents that give it a luxury feel, such as perforated genuine leather seating.

Denali Ultimate

Last but far from least, the Denali Ultimate has all the features of the Denali and the lower trim levels, but it’s the only trim equipped with a Duramax diesel engine standard.
