1. Papa Eric’s
This is your place if you have a hefty appetite. This long-standing restaurant serves excellent combo meals with large, juicy patties. They take pride in their hand-crafted work, and you’ll notice that from your first bite. If you are a spice lover, try the Andre patty, which comes with Papa Eric’s special chili beans, or the Chiara patty, which comes with green chili sauce. Or have a go at the mushroom or the Karyme.
If someone in your party prefers an alternative, the chili bowl, Papa Dog, nugget basket, and chicken sandwich are good. For the kids, try the traditional patty with cheese, the nuggets, or the salchipulpo. The locale is open every day except for Sunday and can be found at 2519 N. Piedras St.
2. Toro
Since 2007, the owners of Toro have prided themselves in their work. So when you want a good patty and a beer, this is your stop. They offer nearly two dozen different styles of patties that will make your mouth water, such as the Rise and Shine, the Mi Papa’s, the Toreado mac and cheese, the elk, the buffalo, and the Flamin’ queso. Vegetarians will enjoy the black bean with sweet potato or the portabello mushroom patty.
Enjoy sides like dill pickle fries, sea salt fries, or onion rings. They also have soups, salads, wings, and loaded mac and cheese. For the little ones, order sliders, tenders, or wings. Be sure to finish off with one of their classic milkshakes. Toro is located at 6590 Montana Ave. and is open every day. Please drink responsibly and in moderation, and do not drink and drive.
3. Panda
Relax with good music, a comfortable environment, friendly service, and of course, tasty cuisine. Choose from a host of patties, like the Super Panda, the Italiana, the Diablo, the Tejana, or the Mar y Tierra. Add a beer or a housemade flavored michelada to your meal. We suggest sampling the hot Cheetos fries as well. Panda also offers tacos and wings. Be sure to stop in on a Wednesday for their sandwich specials too.
